Training Overview

  • Facilitators can attend a three-day academy offered annually
    • Completing the three-day Flight Team training is preferred, but not required for Facilitators
  • Administrative and board video training used throughout the year
  • All Staff Preparedness videos used throughout the year
  • Continued learning opportunities for Facilitators and Team Leaders
  • Facilitators can use materials and train new team members at any time, 24/7

This is the foundation for participation in training for a state-wide team to be ready to respond to mass-casualty and overwhelming events.

    The CMI Academy

CMI will occasionally offer leadership training for key team members, administrators and training facilitators.  Although the program is designed to be plug-and-play, enhanced knowledge and experience is invaluable!

When there is sufficient interest, CMI offers training for a state-wide or regional Mass Casualty Response Team.  Nothing like having that there if you need it!

    Included in the Academy

    • A three-day in-person training with Cheri Lovre
    • Handouts and materials for use in unique circumstances
    • Access to a private forum with other academy-trained professionals
    • Direct access to Cheri and other experts during “Office Hours” and during responses to high-level incidents

    Expert Crisis Response

In the face of a mass casualty event, our Crisis Management Community stands ready to provide  swift and effective support to your school and community during moments of greatest need. You’ll not only benefit from this response network but also foster knowledge and understanding through updates. The availability of “outside” expert support  ensures that each district can confidently respond to any crisis with shared experiences and knowledge.

    Community Relationships

Leaders within the Crisis Management Community understand the value of community relationships in crisis response. By including local partners in your training, all draw upon shared knowledge and experiences during crises, creating a stronger and more resilient response network. The collective experiences of each school within the community contribute to a continuous improvement cycle, modifying and enhancing training and support protocols as we learn and adapt to new challenges.

    Training Resources

Member districts gain access to essential training resources, including vital videos aligned with the crisis management manual available to every school. This equips school administrators with the necessary skills to effectively lead during times of crisis and communicate confidently with the media and community. Simultaneously, school staff are confident of their actions, assuring an effective response.

    Extend Community Partnerships

Extending the strength of the Crisis Management Community, we invite you to include your community college partners and other agency staff as members for your team. This collaborative expansion ensures a more robust and interconnected response community, enriching the overall preparedness and resilience of the educational institutions within our network.  Don’t wait till you need that extended support to call them!  Integrate them into your learning and practices from the start!

    Contribute to a Greater Cause

Finally, your commitment to the Crisis Management Community not only ensures the safety of your district but also contributes to a greater cause. Ten percent of your annual payment will be invested in mobilizing our support to your district should the worst occur.  We stand ready to come along side you, keeping you in charge and effective.

The worst – a school shooting – brought Cheri into our midst.

Without Cheri, I know we would have been overwhelmed and ineffective in those early days. Her follow-up and continued support in the weeks and months afterward enabled us to continue our efforts of support and comfort to a grieving community. I cannot speak highly enough about the impact she had on us personally and professionally in our darkest time.
